Small Projector Buying Guide — Switzerland 2026

Evidence-led Swiss buying guide assessing 13 compact projectors below CHF 500, with source-labelled brightness, streaming and battery trade-offs, dated seller offers, explicit CHF deal bands, and a named exclusion for the older Mozart generation.

Models assessed13

Twelve active/conditional deal rows plus one explicitly excluded Mozart generation

Best ≤ CHF 200XGIMI Vibe One

Native 1080p, licensed Netflix and useful auto setup

Best image evidenceNebula Mars 3 Air

Measured near its 400 ANSI claim, with a 2.5-hour Eco battery

Dated Swiss market decision

Buy for a dark room, not as a daylight TV replacement.

The low-risk budget choice is XGIMI Vibe One at CHF 199.95. The best-supported complete package is Nebula Mars 3 Air around CHF 460. Every deal below assumes you can control room light.

Category-change ruleIf you need a large satisfying image with lamps or daylight on, frequent lit-room presentations, or regular viewing beyond 100 inches, compare a brighter conventional projector or a TV instead.
Illustration of a compact projector casting a warm image in a dark room
Compact projectors trade brightness for size, setup convenience and—in a few models—battery power.

Use-case recommendations

Nine quick decisions

Prices and stock were checked on 10 July 2026.

Cheapest acceptable experiment

Denver PR-2500

CHF 47.95

Only with a very easy return route. Stated 175 ANSI and native 1080p, but no credible independent image or reliability test was found.

Best at or below CHF 200

XGIMI Vibe One

CHF 199.95

The clearest documented budget smart buy: native 1080p, licensed Netflix, useful auto setup and a 160° stand. Plug it in for a full film.

Best mains-powered budget value

Xiaomi Smart Projector L1

CHF 210 direct

A direct-Swiss-seller dark-room value pick. Its 200 ISO image needs light control, and Netflix must be confirmed on the delivered Swiss unit.

Best polished smart setup

XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro

CHF 453

Built-in Google TV, licensed Netflix and mature automatic setup. It has no battery and is a convenience upgrade rather than a daylight-brightness upgrade.

Best demonstrated image quality

Nebula Mars 3 Air

CHF 460

The strongest independent image evidence in the shortlist, measured near its 400 ANSI claim. Still an after-dark projector, not a TV replacement.

Best full-movie portable

Nebula Mars 3 Air

CHF 460

A 2.5-hour Eco battery, 2×8 W audio, Google TV and useful connections make it the most complete carry-around package below CHF 500.

High-spec conditional bargain

Wanbo Vali 1 Pro

CHF 179 user-observed / CHF 193.95 reproducible

Both prices are in the great-buy band, but price value and evidence risk are separate: brightness, software, fulfillment and returns still need verification.

Battery-first conditional value

Wanbo ToGo Pro

CHF 237.95–263.95 observed states

The 99 Wh battery reached 1 h 50 min in an independent normal-mode test. Buy only after a seller confirms dispatch and the exact brightness, ports and return terms.

Conditional mains-powered step-up

Wanbo Mozart 1 Pro (2025 New)

CHF 300 lead / CHF 317.95 VAT-inclusive list

Keep it separate from the older 900-ANSI model. Google TV and newer hardware are promising, but the 1200-ANSI figure is manufacturer-cited and Buyer-Beware flagged.

Budget map

What each CHF band buys

≤ CHF 100

Denver PR-2500 at CHF 47.95

Treat this as a returnable experiment, not a default home-cinema purchase. It is the only captured ultra-budget model pairing a stated ANSI figure with native 1080p.

CHF 100–200

XGIMI Vibe One or conditional Wanbo Vali 1 Pro

Vibe One at CHF 199.95 is lower risk. Vali was CHF 179 user-observed and CHF 193.95 reproducible; either is a great price, but neither removes its evidence, fulfillment or support risk.

CHF 200–350

Xiaomi L1/L1 Pro, ToGo Pro, X5 Pro and 2025 Mozart

L1 is the clearer direct-seller choice; ToGo is battery-first; L1 Pro is better supported; X5 Pro and 2025 Mozart are price-capped, claim-heavy alternatives. The older Mozart is excluded at CHF 335.95–357.95.

CHF 350–499

Mars 3 Air, MoGo 3 Pro and Capsule 3

Choose Mars for the complete battery/image package, MoGo for polished smart UX while plugged in, and Capsule only when its 0.85 kg size is decisive.

Room reality

Native 1080p helps. Darkness helps more.

Brightness labels must stay attached to their measurement basis. ANSI and ISO are not converted here, and neither is treated as equal to generic LED or source-lumen marketing.

Dark room

Films can look convincing after dark.

  • Use the manufacturers’ conservative 60–100 or 60–120 inch ranges first.
  • Place the lens square to the image where possible; digital correction costs sharpness.
  • HDR means compatibility or tone mapping here, not television-like highlights.
Ambient light

None of these is a daylight-TV substitute.

  • Independent L1, Mars 3 Air and Yaber evidence all shows serious room-light limits.
  • Curtains, a smaller image and a better screen help but do not change the output class.
  • Do not trust a four-digit generic “LED lumen” headline as a shortcut.

XGIMI Vibe One250 ISO (XGIMI); one retailer says 220 ANSI, not converted. Native 1080p LCD.45–150 in; recommended 60–120 in; fixed 1.3:1; digital zoom only.Auto focus and auto keystone; 160° handle stand. What Hi-Fi found a detailed, natural budget image and credible budget blacks; Android Authority found a fully dark room necessary.
Xiaomi L1200 ISO; native 1080p LCD.40–120 in; recommended 60–100 in; fixed 1.2:1; no optical zoom disclosed.Auto focus, auto keystone, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance.Sharp and quiet in a dark room, but weak output fades rapidly with ambient light. Low fixed body benefits from a stand.
Wanbo Vali 1 Pro900 ANSI manufacturer claim; native 1080p LCD; claimed HDR10.40–130 in at 1.2–3.9 m; fixed 1.35:1; no optical zoom captured.Auto focus/keystone, screen fit, obstacle avoidance and integrated 200° gimbal. No credible independent full image or reliability test located. Treat brightness, HDR, colour and contrast as manufacturer claims.
Wanbo ToGo ProConrad fields conflict: 500 ANSI, 300 ISO and 300 ANSI; none is normalized. Native 1080p LCD.40–120 in at 1.2–3.5 m; fixed 1.3:1; no optical zoom captured.Auto focus/keystone and screen alignment; integrated 360° gimbal. Obstacle avoidance was not confirmed.Independent hands-ons found a useful sharp image after dark, limited blacks and poor daylight suitability. A 400-lux reading is not ANSI and is not converted.
Wanbo Mozart 1 Pro — older 900-ANSI generation900 ANSI manufacturer claim; native 1080p LCD. 4K is accepted input/decoding, not native resolution.55–120 in at 1.35–3.3 m; fixed 1.2:1; 50–100% digital zoom.Auto focus/keystone, screen fit and obstacle avoidance.Independent reviews found good colour, motion and audio but weak dark-scene detail. It is explicitly excluded at the observed CHF 335.95–357.95.
Wanbo Mozart 1 Pro (2025 New)1200 ANSI manufacturer claim; native 1080p LCD. ProjectorCentral applies a Buyer Beware warning.55–120 in at 1.35–3.3 m; fixed 1.2:1; 50–100% digital zoom.Auto focus/keystone, screen fit and obstacle avoidance. The 150° gimbal stand is optional, not bundled by default. No calibrated independent image test was found. Do not infer daylight performance or native 4K from the company claims.

Xiaomi L1 Pro400 ANSI on Xiaomi spec; 400 ISO elsewhere, not equated. Native 1080p LCD.40–120 in; recommended 60–100 in; fixed 1.21:1; no optical zoom disclosed.Auto focus/keystone, screen alignment, obstacle avoidance and tripod thread.01net found a natural, homogeneous dark-room image, with modest blacks and weak light-room impact.
Samsung Freestyle 2nd GenNative 1080p DLP. Marketing says 550 generic/LED lumens; ProjectorCentral lists 230 ANSI manufacturer-cited.30–100 in at 0.8–2.7 m; fixed 1.2:1; no zoom.Auto focus, auto level, keystone and 180° cradle.Home Cinema Choice found dark-grey blacks, black crush and possible DLP rainbow artefacts; ProjectorCentral supplies the 230-ANSI record.
Yaber T2 Plus / GTV?Current GTV page says 350 ISO; Galaxus says 450 lm. Native 1080p.40–120 in; fixed 1.25:1; no optical zoom.GTV claims auto focus/keystone/screen fit/obstacle avoidance; older Plus test differs.Android Authority’s older Plus test supports dark-room clarity and battery/audio, but not the exact Swiss listing’s software, brightness or setup.
Nebula Capsule 3200 ANSI; native 1080p DLP.40–120 in; fixed 1.2:1; 50–100% digital scaling.Auto focus/keystone, screen fit, obstacle avoidance and tripod socket.A portability purchase: colour and contrast fall quickly with ambient light, and dark-area detail is weak.
XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro450 ISO; native 1080p DLP; HDR10 not via Micro HDMI.40–200 in; recommended 60–120 in; fixed 1.2:1; digital zoom only.Auto focus/keystone, screen fit, obstacle avoidance and 130° stand.Good colour, detail and motion, but weak HDR, crushed or flat shadows, some unevenness and inconsistent auto-keystone.
Nebula Mars 3 Air400 ANSI; native 1080p DLP; measured 399 ANSI Conference / 383 ANSI Standard.30–150 in at 0.8–4 m; fixed 1.2:1; manual digital zoom.Auto focus/keystone, screen fit and obstacle avoidance; tripod for upward tilt.Sharp, natural dark-room results with measured output close to claim. Avoid or require a steep discount

Do not pay for ambiguous specifications.

These are not blanket product bans. They are evidence and value gates for the captured Swiss offers.

La Vague LV-HD240 Wi-Fi at CHF 149.95

Native resolution is 1280×720; “1080p” is accepted input and “2000 lumen” has no ANSI/ISO basis. Do not rank it against transparent native-1080p models.

Mikamax Mini Projector

Advertised as 1080p-capable while native resolution is 480×272; the captured Galaxus listing was also out of stock.

Strong MIRA 1 at CHF 241.43

A third-party German supplier and uncertain Swiss after-sales/platform behavior make this a poor default Swiss-stock recommendation.

Wanbo Vali 1 Pro and X5 Pro

Buy only inside their great-buy bands and with an unambiguous return path. Vali’s CHF 179/193.95 prices are attractive but do not resolve its 900-ANSI/650-ISO conflict or evidence gap; X5 has documented image-uniformity and colour limitations.

Wanbo Mozart 1 Pro (2025 New) above CHF 350

Do not pay a premium for an untested 1200-ANSI claim. The stand is optional and the observed seller-price states conflict on VAT and fulfillment.

Samsung Freestyle above CHF 450

Choose it for Tizen, cradle and convenience, not brightness. Above CHF 450 its narrow value case disappears.

Yaber T2 Plus until SKU is identified

Do not buy the CHF 378 listing at any price until the retailer confirms the exact built-in-GTV or dongle-equipped package in writing.

Before paying

Seven checkout checks

A good model with the wrong SKU, app support, plug, seller or return path is still a bad buy.

  1. Reconfirm exact CHF cart price, seller, dispatch country, VAT, shipping, stock and delivery date. For Vali, retain product ID 3758234 and repeat the cart logged out or in a private window so CHF 179 user-observed is not silently merged with the CHF 193.95 reproducible state.
  2. Get the exact SKU and product photo for Yaber and Wanbo. Keep the older 900-ANSI/Android-TV Mozart separate from 2025 New/1200-ANSI/Google-TV, and confirm whether the 2025 stand is actually included.
  3. Test Netflix, desired Swiss apps and casting on the delivered unit while the return window is open. Generic Android or Android TV wording is not sufficient.
  4. Check whether HDMI is full-size or Micro HDMI, whether ARC matters, and whether the cable or adapter is included—especially for Samsung and MoGo.
  5. Compare tested battery mode with film length. Vibe One delivered roughly 96 minutes, while ToGo Pro reached 1 h 50 min in normal use; Eco claims for other models are not equivalent tests.
  6. Plan shelf, stand or tripod placement. Digital keystone is a convenience fallback and can reduce active pixels and sharpness.
  7. Prefer a transparent Swiss seller and clear return/warranty path over a small marketplace saving; no long-duration Swiss repair-rate study was found.

Evidence limits

What remains unresolved

  • Live cart stock, delivery, VAT, returns and warranty can change after the 10 July 2026 capture.
  • Xiaomi L1 and L1 Pro Netflix/DRM behavior on the delivered Swiss SKU was not independently certified.
  • The CHF 378 Yaber listing needs written T2 Plus versus T2 Plus GTV package and brightness confirmation.
  • Wanbo local returns/support require confirmation; Vali’s CHF 179 state is user-observed rather than independently reproducible, and its price value does not upgrade the evidence quality.
  • ToGo Pro availability is unresolved; its catalogue conflicts across 500 ANSI, 300 ISO and 300 ANSI labels.
  • The older and 2025 Mozart generations are separate SKUs. The 2025 stand is optional, and its 1200-ANSI claim is manufacturer-cited with a ProjectorCentral Buyer Beware warning.
  • Mars 3 Air HDMI/ARC version conflicts across sources, and no long-duration Swiss repair/failure-rate study was located.
